Rawls College of Business Administration

The Rawls College of Business Administration at Texas Tech University is the first college on campus to be named after receiving a record $25 million gift from Tech alumnus Jerry S. Rawls in December 2000.

The college has five areas of study--Accounting, Finance, Information Systems and Quantitative Sciences, Management, and Marketing--in addition to dual programs in conjunction with architecture, agriculture, foreign languages, law, medicine, and environmental toxicology.

The MD/MBA in Health Organization Management (HOM) allows medical students the opportunity to obtain both an MD and the MBA degree over four years, the Physician MBA Program gives practicing physicians business expertise, the accelerated program allows select undergraduates to begin working on an MBA their senior year, and the International Business program helps Rawls College students study abroad. In addition, the Executive Education Department develops seminars, conferences, and training programs for professionals and managers in business, government, and industry.

The Career Management Center at the Rawls College provides each business student with professional development training in interviewing skills and resume building as they make the transition from the world of school to the world of work. The Rawls CMC is dedicated to partnering with employers in their search for future leadership of their organizations and is committed to assisting our students as they are recruited for internships and permanent career paths.

In a recent U.S. News and World Report Rankings of Best Colleges, the Rawls College of Business ranked 52nd among public university business colleges, with student enrollment of just under 4500, and an undergraduate population of about 3900 in 2006-07.
