Allen T. McInnes, Ph.D., was appointed dean of the Jerry S. Rawls College of Business Administration on September 1, 2001. Dean McInnes was an oil industry executive and community leader in Houston before coming to Texas Tech. He served from 1996 to 2000 as president and chief executive officer of TETRA Technologies, Inc., a diversified oil field service company.

Currently, he serves on the board of directors of TETRA Technologies and TGC Industries, a seismic acquisition company. From 1960 to 1993, he served in various management positions at Tenneco Inc., a Fortune 25 company, and most recently he was executive vice-president and a member of the board of directors.

Dean McInnes also serves as a member of the board of trustees of the Kinkaid School in Houston. He has served on the board of trustees of the American Graduate School of International Management (Thunderbird) and served for many years on the advisory council of the business school at the University of Texas at Austin. He has also served as a board member of the Museum of Fine Arts in Houston and Contemporary Arts Museum in Houston.

Dean McInnes holds a doctorate in finance from the University of Texas at Austin where he earned both a bachelor’s and a master’s of business administration. Additionally, he holds an advanced degree from Harvard University.

Dean McInnes and his wife, Missy, have five grown children.
